Eng/Span/Nat Some of the world's most unique artwork is being shown in Houston, Texas this week. But the masterpieces have been created not on canvas, but on skin. Tattoo fans from around the globe have gathered in the U-S for what's being billed as the world's only international tattoo convention. These tattoo enthusiasts stripped off their clothes to display their body art. They are gathered in Houston, Texas for what's being billed as the world's first international tattoo convention. The participants seemed happy to show off their pride and joy, the tattoo art that adorns their bodies. But you're unlikely to see any of these designs on art gallery walls. Various different competitions are held at the conference. But what are the judges looking for? SOU...
The Missouri Pacific Historical Society was meeting in Houston, so Union Pacific put their MP HU on display at the Amtrak station. (Apparently, UP 1983 was also nearby in Englewood yard, but I didn't know about it.) This thing sure is a beauty! Though the unit isn't in very good shape right now. This is my favorite diesel of all-time since my Dad grew up knowing Missouri Pacific and this was my first HU. I first saw it leading a freight on 3/10/2014, I then saw it sitting in Englewood yard on 7/5/2015, and now I've got up-close to it here! 0:00 - Lots of pictures of 1982, including some close-ups, its K5HL, and me with the unit! UP SD70ACe #1982 (MP Heritage) 1:08 - From inside the Amtrak station, a distant freight goes by with lots of green tank cars at the end. 2:14 - A near-perfect ...

When I was 10 years old I watched an American walk on the moon. 43 years later I see the USA hitch hiking a ride from Russia. This is not political this is personal, we should be embarrassed as a nation. We have led the world in space travel until this administration.
This is our big experiment for the March 2013 TexLUG display window at the LEGO store in the Baybrook Mall -- the head of "Chicken Little" emerging from an Easter egg. The really cool thing is -- it moves! We've been wanting to put something that moves in a display window for a long time, and this is our first implementation. The movement is simple but interesting, featuring random delays and a wide variety of movements for a fun animation effect. The movement is generated using a LEGO NXT controller and servo motor, and will continue for 24 hours each day through the month but will generate only a moderate duty cycle on the components.
Space Center Houston is the first stop for the exhibit “Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission.” Inside glass containers and between motion sensors are more than twenty rare artifacts that tell the story of humanity’s first steps on the moon. The display includes the container that held a lunar sample and even a space survival kit. The artifacts are almost 50 years old now, but even small details have been preserved. If you go to the case with astronaut Buzz Aldrin’s helmet and gloves… look closely. You can actually see a reminder on the gloves to take that now iconic photograph of a footprint on the moon. The traveling exhibition is a joint venture between NASA and the Smithsonian. It will be on display in Houston through March 2018.
